Did you know that you have to MANUALLY switch it on? Where as your fight or flight response system mode (aka the sympathetic nervous system) switches on Automatically at a "drop of a hat"!

And It only take a small noise, or something to trigger it on. BUT then to switch it off it takes manual effort... and it is done by switching ON the Parasympathetic Nervous System.

It's kinda like a Circuit Breaker... it trips easy but then it has to be Manually switched back to the working position.

There are many ways of doing this And here are a few...

Here are just 25 effective strategies, and Two Extra Bonuses (my personal favorites) at the end, to help you unwind and reclaim your calm:

1. Deep Breathing: Inhale deeply for 4 seconds, hold for 4, and exhale for 6. Repeat.
2. Mindful Meditation: Spend just 10 minutes in silence, focusing on your breath.
3. Progressive Muscle Relaxation: Tense and relax each muscle group in sequence.
4. Nature Walk: Step outside and immerse yourself in the natural world.
5. Talk to a Tree: They are great listeners and they do well with “fertilizer”.
6. Gentle Yoga: Try restorative yoga poses to encourage relaxation.
7. Essential Oils: Use lavender or chamomile oils in a diffuser.
8. Warm Bath: Soak in a bath with Epsom salts and calming scents.
9. Guided Imagery: Visualize a peaceful scene or a place you love.
10. Positive Affirmations: Repeat affirmations that reinforce a calm mindset.
11. Laughter: Watch a funny movie or read something that makes you laugh.
12. Warm Drinks: Sip on herbal tea, like chamomile or peppermint.
13. Music Therapy: Listen to calming music or sounds of nature.
14. Gratitude Journaling: Write down three things you are grateful for each day.
15. Nourish with Whole Foods: Eating a balanced meal can have calming effects.
16. Quality Sleep: Prioritize 7-9 hours of restful sleep each night. (Bonus points for Hours before midnight sleep.)
17. Limit Screen Time: Unplug from devices at least an hour before bed.
18. Connect with Loved Ones: Spend quality time with family or friends.

Bonus ones: My personal favorites:
26. Breathing Exercises: Try box breathing – inhale, hold, exhale, hold, each for 4 seconds. This can have a fast affect within just a few rounds. And can slow the flow of the Adrenalin quickly.
27. Grounding: By touching the grass, plants, or soil for about 10 minutes or so with your skin like your bare hands and/or feet.
