Creating More Options for You…

Story time! … Creating more options/choices… Who doesn’t like options? Could you imagine going to a restaurant and only having ONE item on the menu. Not many choices to choose from, right?! What about if you woke up and you only had ONE choice to choose from.. That’s not much of a choice.

But, Think of a person that is in jail… Not many choices for them… They can’t get up in the morning and go to the store down the street or go to the local playground with their kids or friends if they wanted to… Their choices are greatly limited. They have to do what the Jail tells them… like sitting in their Jail cell or to eat when they bring the food or take them down to the jail “eating area” at the time they decide for them..

I don’t know about you, but I like having options and choices in my life. Even if I choose the same thing each time. Having the options available is awesome.

Yet, Often times we do that to ourselves in a way… we make choices that limit us or don’t lead us to more options. Think of when we overeat junk foods… we get sick or if we do it too often, we get fatter. Which then leads to less activities that we can do, which leads to being less able, and having fewer options… and so on.

On the other hand, when we do things that give us more options, much like exercising, it allows us to have more options… If we are able to run a mile (or 5 miles) then we have more options than others who can’t run a mile.

You wonder what options a person who can run a mile over the person that can’t do it… Well, first of all, they can run a mile, and they can walk several miles, hiking in the mountains, or playing with their kids or their friends in sports, or at the playground, etc.

They also have the options of sitting and watching a movie or TV shows, playing board games, going out to eat, or even eating junk food, and the list goes on. The people that can’t run the mile, have only a few of those options available to them.

So, What areas of your life do you want more Options in? Look at what activities can will give you more options.. Such as, If you want to be able to do more physical activities… do more of what is in alignment with the results you want to have.

So How do we do this?

If you want to be able to do more physical activities… start doing things that will help you have more endurance such as walking more, jogging, running, etc. Drink more water in a day, eat a little bit better (eat more healthy things [like eating more apples or veggies] and eat less unhealthy things [like cutting out some or a lot of the daily soda pop]).


But here is the basic plan…

Do more things that are in alignment with the things you want more options in. This could cause you to adjust/change your identity some. For example: If you start running, it will be easier if you take on the identity of a person who runs, or the identity of a runner.

Side note: This new “runner” identity will also help you make better choices aligned with being a “runner”… like going running a few times a week, or/and eating a little bit better/healthier during the week or eating less unhealthy things during the week… which will lead to better health and more options in your life.

Remember, You get more options by rising up to higher levels of skills, knowledge, and actions.

The Little Secret -

So with life, business, and coaching, (or with increasing options)... the Principles still applies… If you want to have more options in your life do things that are in alignment with those options.

Now that might look differently for different situations. But the concept is the same. It could be done with a lot of different methods like, with better health could be as simple as moving your body a bit more and being active, or eating better.

 Today’s Action Step(s)  
1) Do something that will help you get in better alignment with the options/choices you want to have.

If you want more options/choices with money… figure out a way to make more money (or spend less money on other things) so that you can spend more on the thing(s) that you do want to have more options on.

 Extra Credit  💯 😄 If you want to get better answers, start asking better questions. Your brain is smart and kinda dumb all at the same time. It will often only find what you “ASK” it to find, not what you “mean”. So improve the questions you ask to improve your results.
